In the early years of the wind industry (Starting in 1982), Windland operated American turbines (Stormmasters, ESI, Enertech, and Carter turbines). Windland was the first company to install the Carter 300 wind turbine, the highest producing Carter turbine in the world.
Many of the early American turbines experienced problems. Windland learned how to rebuild and recondition wind turbines and succeeded in operating this early technology for 15-20 years. In the past, we’ve used this knowledge to offer reconditioned turbines to 3rd parties.
Windland became one of the early adopters of the more conservative design approach of European technology. In 1985, Bonus 65 and Bonus 120 turbines were installed with excellent results.
