Early History

In the early years of the wind industry (starting in 1982), Windland operated American-made turbines from companies such as Stormmasters, ESI, Enertech, and Carter. In fact, Windland was the first company to install the Carter 300 wind turbine, the highest-producing Carter turbine in the world.

Many of the early American turbines experienced problems. Windland honed expertise in rebuilding and reconditioning these wind turbines.

Later, Windland became one of the early adopters of the more conservative design approach of European technology. Thanks to Windland’s diligent maintenance practices, many of these turbines have enjoyed a 25-year life and are still in operation today.
