Tehachapi Wind Farm Project

Windland has developed and operated commercial wind projects in Tehachapi, California since 1982. During that time we have used many generations of wind turbine generators, from the first generation 25 to 40kW machines up to the Megawatt class turbines on today's market. Through our many projects Windland has gained a thorough understanding of the issues related to turbine selection, siting and maintenance.

Many of the early generation wind turbines experienced problems. Windland learned how to repair and recondition wind turbines in working through these problems. In the past, we've used this knowledge to offer reconditioned turbines to 3rd parties.

Impressed with the conservative design approach they were following, Windland was one of the early adopters of European wind turbines in the US. Windland was the first US wind farm to install the Vestas V-25 series turbines. Bonus and Vestas turbines purchased in the mid-80s and early 90s are still producing effectively on our Tehachapi site.
